Why choose me?
No matter what stage you’re at, my aim is to train you to become the safest driver you can possibly be. As my past and present students will tell you, I never cut corners - but I will teach you to the highest possible standard as quickly and as economically as possible. This is why I believe I have such a high pass rate.
I offer calm, clear tuition and am extremely patient specialising with anxious & nervous drivers. My rate is not the cheapest but I am a firm believer of ‘You get what you pay for’.
Many people come to me after having lessons elsewhere, wishing they had never been drawn in by an offer which was ‘too good to be true’.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are you fully qualified and if so what grade are you?
Yes I'm fully qualified and have been since December 2009. Also I am currently grade 'A' which is the highest level an instructor can achieve.
Do you teach manual or automatic? Also what car do you have?
I only teach manual transmission in a Ford Fiesta Ecoboost 1L. It's extremely comfortable and fits all shapes and sizes. It's fully insured as am I and is fitted with dual controls.
Have you adapted to keep students safe while COVID-19 is a threat?
Yes! I have opted to take every precaution I possibly can to protect my students, their families and myself. Please see my updated Covid-19 page at the very top of the page or in the footer below.
Where and when do you teach?
I teach 8am-8pm weekdays only in Maidstone, Kent and the surrounding areas. If you're not sure, send me a quick message and I'll let you know.
Are you good with nervous or anxious learners?
Yes, I have been successfully helping even the most anxious of drivers for many years and will always ask the learner if they are happy to progress to the next stage first. My style of teaching is to break down subjects individually so that when they come together in real scenarios it feels much less daunting.
Do I need to take a certian amount of lessons before I can take my test?
No, you can take the test whenever you're ready to. You may have experience with family, friends or maybe a previous instructor. As long as you're safe, I'm happy for you to take the test in my car.
When should I be learning the theory and how do I book it? I've heard there are scams.
As soon as possible. The more you know, the less time we will need to spend learning theory on the lessons - therefore reducing the overall cost. Also, you must pass your theory test before the DVSA allow you to book a practical test. And yes, unfortunetely there are many scams around booking tests online. The test should only be booked through www.gov.uk/book-theory-test The current fee for a car theory test is £23 and there should be no additional fee to pay. Alternatively you can call the DVSA on 0300 200 1122. The nearest theory test centre to Maidstone is in Chatham.
How does the practical driving test work and what car do I drive?
The practical test is around 40 minutes long. At the start you are asked one vehicle safety question before you've gone anywhere, during the drive the examiner will ask you to demonstrate another vehicle safety question while you're on the move. You will be asked to drive on various types of roads safely and show good control and understanding. During the test you will be asked to drive for around 20 minutes independently and this will most likely be using a sat nav the examiner brings with them. That said, 1 in 5 candidates are asked to drive independently using road signs only. You will also be asked to carry out one reversing manoeuvre. In addition to this, you may also be asked to carry out an emergency stop, this is randomly asked to 1 in 3 candidates. You drive my car, the one you've been training in. On test day we arrange an hour lesson before the test to practice driving and manoeuvring before going to the test centre. When we get there we go in and wait for your examiner and they take my place in the passenger seat for 40 minutes while the test is being conducted. You can take the test in your own vehicle as long as it's insured and you have an accompanying driver but it makes sense to take the car you've been doing all your practice in.
How do I book the driving test and do I have to pay for anything else on test day?
The same way as the theory. Again there are many scams around so make sure you book through their official website: www.gov.uk/book-driving-test or alternatively call the DVSA on 0300 200 1122. The current driving test fee is £62 on a weekday and £75 on a Saturday. This is made payable to the DVSA. The nearest practical driving test to Maidstone, is in Maidstone itself. Regarding payment unfortunately yes, as the test fee has nothing to do with me, I still have to charge for the time that is booked out of my diary. Often the test and travel time combined runs over, but 2 hours is the charge unless we have arranged an extended lesson beforehand.
